Isle of Skye Book Festival Opens today with Gaelic Psalm Precenting

The 6th Annual Isle of Skye Book Festival opens this afternoon with Gaelic Psalm Precenting ushering in the first session which features an exploration of the spirituality of the islands. Lewis writers, Alastair Macintosh and Donald S Murray will talk about their latest island books when the Festival opens in Portree at Noon. For the first time, several sessions of the Festival, including those featuring crime writer Ian Rankin, have been sold-out in advance but Festival Director Donald Macdonald confirmed today that there are still tickets available for most of the 14 events. The Festival runs from today until Saturday afternoon at the Aros Heritage Centre in Portree.
